Merry Christmas! May it bring us peace, joy, and love! Don’t forget, tonight at 11:00 PM EET (10:00 PM CET), Channel 1+1 will air the "Christmas Concert"!
Ruslana and her work have always been deeply intertwined with Christmas, its magic, and wonder. Her music can warm the heart like almost nothing else. We’ve prepared another article for you about the latest news from Ruslana. This also marks the second anniversary of our website!
We wish you a beautiful and peaceful Christmas, whether you celebrate at home with family, abroad, or even in the trenches defending Ukraine. We think of the heroes and heroines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) most of all. Our thoughts are with you not only at Christmas but throughout the entire year. May the Christmas miracle visit the homes of all good people!
Many of Ruslana’s friends noticed her frequent travels to and from Brussels. However, only a few team members knew that these trips were connected to her participation in the Belgian TV show "The Masked Singer" on VTM. After nearly a year and two months, she finally revealed her face live on air. Until then, viewers knew her only as the masked anglerfish – Zeeduivel – a character that became her second persona.
Although the mask choice was made by producers, Ruslana embraced the role as an opportunity to share a message about Ukraine with the Belgian audience through carefully selected songs. One of these, “Please Forgive Me,” was dedicated to a fallen hero with the call sign Da Vinci.
Readers of our website might recall that this was not the first time Ruslana took part in a similar show – she previously appeared on the Lithuanian competition “Kaukės”.
On December 6, she shared her sole wish for Saint Nicholas Day: “May everyone come home alive.” This holiday coincides with Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day.
Don’t miss this video where Ruslana describes how she created her magical cauldron of rhythms in the song Stone Queen. She explains the ingredients of Hutsul rhythms, pulses, and sounds she infused into it, how she drew inspiration from Led Zeppelin, and more. Together, it created a unique musical enchantment. Now, the enchantress reveals how she channels her personal spirit into her music.
Switzerland was fortunate to host three of Ruslana’s Christmas concerts alongside the Dance Theatre "Zhyttia" (Life). The first concert took place in Zurich, followed by Chiasso, and lastly in Geneva. The multicultural audience included Ukrainian soldiers who had been injured in battle.
Ruslana created an unforgettable Christmas atmosphere filled with warmth, joy, and support for everyone. We’d love to share it with you through a selection of the most interesting (and wild!) photos, originally shared on her Facebook page. You can find them in the gallery above.
