For a few days now, we’ve been able to enjoy Ruslana’s new single, Stone Queen (Кам’яна Діва), and what can we say? Those energy-filled rhythms are exactly what we expect from her! She certainly doesn’t have a “stone heart” – instead, she reveals her strength and energy hidden within the stone. Once again, she’s as we know her: wild, untamed, and full of rock melodies.
What do we know about this song, and how has it inspired us? We’ve revamped the website design to match the style of the new single. Take a look at how we’ve captured the song’s energy in visuals!
Haven’t heard it yet? Hard to believe! But if you have missed it, make sure to check it out. The English version is also available on YouTube. 😉
Ruslana’s Stone Queen blends elements of rock opera with a mystical atmosphere, enhanced by the unique Hutsul rhythms masterfully performed by violinist Vasyl Popadiuk. The piano motif, played in the style of a cimbalom, adds an authentic touch.
A significant role is played by the trembita – the iconic Carpathian instrument characteristic of Ruslana’s music. In this song, however, the trembita is tuned to an unusual pitch, adding a whole new dimension of originality.
Ruslana created Stone Queen not only as a musical masterpiece but also as a tribute to the mysticism of the Carpathians. The song draws inspiration from the Trypillian culture and its ancient patterns, as well as the majestic rock formations of the Carpathians, which have their own energy and stories.
The song features a simple yet catchy motif, “paj ram pa par aj pa na pam pam,” encouraging everyone to sing along. Ruslana also emphasizes her vision to connect Ukrainian music with rock energy – something only she can do so brilliantly.
Our website has undergone a “mini-transformation” inspired by Stone Queen. If you’re accessing it from a mobile device, check out the desktop version via the included screenshot! 😊 The pages should also load faster and more smoothly now.
If you’re lucky enough to attend, don’t miss Ruslana’s special Christmas concerts in Switzerland. These performances will be filled with Ukrainian mysticism and festive spirit!
