The Voice of Ruslana’s Wild Heart 10

Ruslana welcomes the spring sun

Ruslana never stands still – her voice, her actions, and her presence continue to resonate wherever courage, hope, and energy are needed.
From a touching tribute to Andriy Kuzmenko, through honoring the Heavenly Hundred – the heroes who fell during Euromaidan – to her recent appearances in Chicago. We bring you a new edition of our fan newsletter – a selection of moments that have shaped not only Ruslana’s path over the past weeks, but touched our hearts too.

To mark ten years since the tragic passing of singer and Ruslana’s dear friend Andriy “Kuzma” Kuzmenko, Ruslana revisited a song she wrote in the first hours after his death. "Ty shche vydkryiesh ochi" (“Ти ще відкриєш очі”) is more than just a song – it is a tender yet painful memory of a man who gave us both words and smiles.

In the video above, Ruslana shares not only music, but his presence – something she still feels whenever she sings this song. Ten years have passed, yet for Ruslana – and many of us – Andriy remains alive in hearts and memory.

On her Facebook page, Ruslana shared a fragment of her online performance at a charity evening for St. Mary’s Ukrainian School, where she merged the power of Wild Dances with the gentle depth of Svitanok – two contrasts that reflect the landscape of her soul.

During the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision, Ruslana premiered her new single Zakrutyla, along with a dynamic new look full of passion and strength. You can read more about the premiere in our article: "Ruslana has unleashed the new energy with her song "Zakrutyla"!"

In a powerful gesture, Ruslana played the Ukrainian national anthem on the piano to honor the Heavenly Hundred – the heroes who gave their lives for freedom during Euromaidan.

Spring Ruslana

As spring arrived, Ruslana shared how this season symbolizes strength and resilience. Its energy helps us endure storms and deep frost, and despite all hardships, find a way to bloom. She sees spring as a time to move toward our dreams with confidence – untamed, strong, and true to ourselves.

During her visit to Chicago, Ruslana joined a march – one of many across the U.S. – to remind the world that the war in Ukraine still continues, and civilians, including children, are still suffering. She thanked her American friends for their solidarity and emphasized that Ukrainians want to live in a free country, shaping their own destiny.

Her appearance at the Ukrainian Vechornyci in Chicago brought both Ruslana and the audience a powerful sense of optimism and mutual inspiration. During the event, she received a surprise gift – a unique metal portrait. It may soon become part of a charity auction to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In return, she gifted her tambourine to the artist who created it.
